Building proposals

Pricing, discounts, tax & multi-year

Service catalog with unit pricing

Bidas prices proposals the way service businesses actually sell: line items with quantities, discounts where they help close, tax where it applies, and multi-year agreements with escalation built in.

Line items

Each service line carries a description, quantity, unit price, and an optional frequency label — one-time, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually. Per-line totals calculate as you type, and the investment summary page rolls everything into a table your client can scan in seconds.

Discounts & tax

  • Discounts apply to the whole proposal as a flat amount or a percentage. The discounted total appears next to the original so the concession is visible — visible discounts close deals.
  • Tax is a rate you set per proposal, applied after the discount and itemized on the investment summary.

Multi-year mode

For contracts that renew — janitorial agreements, maintenance contracts, retainers — switch a proposal to multi-year mode, set the term, and add a per-year escalation percentage. Bidas generates a year-by-year table where each year's total reflects compounding escalation: year 1 at $2,400/mo, year 2 at $2,472, year 3 at $2,546. No surprises at renewal, and no recalculating in a spreadsheet.

Escalation applies to the service subtotal; discounts and tax recalculate per year automatically. The year-by-year table appears on the investment summary page of both the PDF and the hosted link, formatted identically.

What the client sees

Numbers appear in exactly two places: the scope cards for per-line context, and the investment summary for totals, discount, tax, and the multi-year table. The builder never invents numbers — if a line has no price yet, the summary flags what is missing before you export or send.
